International Open Access Week – Community over Commercialization

?

“Community over Commercialization”: This is once again the theme of this year’s International Open Access Week, taking place from October 21st to October 27th, 2024. Libraries and research institutions worldwide will be hosting events and activities throughout the week to inform about Open Access and to promote the idea of Open Access to scientific publications. This year brings a first: last year's theme will be continued to once again focus on alternative, non-commercial pathways to Open Access. These pathways emphasize the importance of scholarly communities in the publication process and question the widespread "author pays" model.

“Community over Commercialization” is therefore also the focus of our coffee lecture series during the Open Access Week, to which we warmly invite you! The Coffee Lectures will be held from Monday, October 21st, 2024 to Friday, October 25th, 2024, each day from 1:00 p.m. via Zoom.
